I held a rose
In my hand,
Gripping it so tight
My hand bled.
The petals were soft
Full of colors,
Of beautiful reds
That matched my blood.
The aroma was sweet.
Full of life,
But soon the scent
Completely disappeared.
Teardrops fell
Onto the rose,
Making it look like
The morning dew.
You were my rose,
My morning light.
You were my rose,
My angel of love.
You made me smile
When no one else could.
You made me laugh
When I didnt think I could.
You were my rose,
My inspiration.
You were my rose,
My dreams come true.
You held me tight
Promising never to let go,
Until that day,
You slipped away.
You were my rose,
Why did you let go?
You were my rose,
Why did you hurt me?
Now youre gone.
With no reason why,
You left me searching.
For answers I wouldnt find.
The rose in my hand
Has shriveled up,
The petals dried and
Dropped to the ground.
Soon all the petals
Were piled at my feet.
Waiting for a good breeze
To carry them away.
All I had left
In my hand,
Was the stem of a
Once beautiful rose.
I threw the stem
Into the air,
Letting it go.
Letting you go.
You were my rose,
But not no more
Youre just the stem
Of a once beautiful rose.
