The Silver Knights Lament
Of burnished silver was his armor bright
His helm was high and lofty, keen his eye
The fiery steed he rode was white as snow
The battle sore that day had gone awry
His sword did glitter like the stars above
And foul, his enemies did flee apace
They scattered like the chaff in frantic flight
So fierce his countenance and dark his face
Of anguish was his anger coldly born
For one that he had loved was torn away
The wicked spawn he battled, fury blown
By winds from Hells dark gates into the fray
Their blood ran cold into the bitter earth
For death doth always hunger ever more
And drinks the life of all who seek revenge
No matter how its victims should implore
The silver knight, deaths merchant, still rode on
For fate decreed that he forevermore
Should ride against his foes without relent
Till he should meet his love on heavens shore
Of burnished silver was his armor bright
His helm was high and lofty, keen his eye
The fiery steed he rode was white as snow
The battle sore that day had gone awry
His sword did glitter like the stars above
And foul, his enemies did flee apace
They scattered like the chaff in frantic flight
So fierce his countenance and dark his face
Of anguish was his anger coldly born
For one that he had loved was torn away
The wicked spawn he battled, fury blown
By winds from Hells dark gates into the fray
Their blood ran cold into the bitter earth
For death doth always hunger ever more
And drinks the life of all who seek revenge
No matter how its victims should implore
The silver knight, deaths merchant, still rode on
For fate decreed that he forevermore
Should ride against his foes without relent
Till he should meet his love on heavens shore
