In Sotto Voce
In dulcet tones, her velvet voice came down
How sweet my sotto voce siren sang
She was legato, lissome, fair and more
When she would sing, the bells of heaven rang
At times her touch was pianissimo
And dolce were her tones, so pure and clear
My soul reverberated with the sound
Of notes that I had come to hold so dear
In grandeur did her harmonies descend
Unto my mortal vessel, echoes bright
Found voices in my darkened soul to bring
A berceuse that would fill my world with light
So sweetly shall my spirits chamber chime
Throughout eternity my soul shall sing
With allegretto serenades of joy
In final hope our roundelay will ring
