I wrote this one in my early twenties. I think it was a joke - wish I could be sure!!
Megalomania
Let me stand beneath the tallest crags
In Christendom, and shout, and watch
My echoes tumble like a waterfall
In pools of purest blue!
Let me stretch my arms from peak to peak
And split the thunderclouds until they peal away
And roll down the sky toward the horizon!
Let me part the sky and feel the tiny stars
Hot in my hand, and let me press them tight
until they crack into a million fragments!
Let me stand in the coldest part of the sky
And tear my ribs apart
And crush the nebulae to my heart!
Let me embrace the Universe!
