The Light and Dark Side of a Coin
by Rob A KIng
Dusk-
days plummeting plunge
into a cataclysmal event.
Light fades,
dies,
as
black becomes wide awake.
Jubilations of rapture,
haunting sounds
heard as phantoms
appear from ebonys void,
where dusky shadows
die and play.
Life becomes nights toy,
sounds of reproduction and death,
reverberating out of the depths of indigo
hidden from visual perception,
cloaked in stealthy gray.
Darkness-
ebonys shadow
on the farscape of earth.
As light-
time noticed,
all seen moving
alive and green.
One side of the coin
night,
the other side
day,
each opposite
as invisible to seen.
Two opposite parallels
never to meet,
only paths to be crossed.
One can see what the other has done,
to see what has been built
either under the wings of the raven
or the smile of the sun.
Night hates day
as day loves the night.
Going round and round
each seeking the other,
chasing each others tail,
the dusk and dawn
the between dark and light.
Night likes to play
have sex
and to invite his friend death
to tag along.
Day is a mother,
gives birth
nurtures
and sings happy songs.
Day and night
night and day
two opposites
that need each other-
as with life and death,
with out one,
there would not be the other.
