The Mermaid and the Unicorn
Set out upon a quest
To try mans imagination
And put it to the test

The unicorn, vain creature
Said "How can they ignore me?
I am a truly unique beast
Magic for all too see!"

The mermaid was more cautious
She sighed "They wont understand
If their magic cannot be controlled
It holds no joy for man.."

Alas her words were omen
As the unicorn entered town
The foolish beast was set upon
And brought by hunter down

So now she lives in lonliness
Her only memory one touch
Before magic was thwarted
And in a museum put

But when you watch the moonlight
Quiet vigil at the shore
If you believe you'll see her
Waiting there for evermore..
