They came from two different worlds,
she, from the crystal waters that spring
from the lonely mountain streams
and weave their way into the warmth
of the lush meadows below.
He, from the vibrant forest
surrounded by fields of green,
grazing freely under spring blossoms
under the castles opulent shadow,
in a world much different from her own.

How they met was serendipity
a time and place of chance encounter
neither was she searching for another,
nor hoping for anything to find,
but something drew her there.
There was no reason for his presence
there that day at the waters edge.
For he had no thirst to quench
just a magnetism he could not resist
and it was serendipity that they met.

They know they cannot stay together
for she must swim beneath the water
and he needs the earth under his feet
but oft times they return to this place
where their love enfolds them;
where he may gaze upon her beauty
and she may touch his soul,
and they know that the love they share
will last beyond their separation
even though they cannot stay together.
