The Dark Attack

The castle loomed ahead
pinnacles both pure and twisted,
intricately sculpted from the rock,
perched upon the precipice
and reaching for the sky.

Around it, circled blackened clouds
like thickly swarming flies,
choking out the view
but doing nothing to block the wails
emanating from the craggy walls.

Upon his mighty dragon stead
he winged forward on his course;
wearing the cloak of darkness
he glided stealthily on the wind,
his eyes held in piercing focus.

A raging wind stirred up the land
from the flapping of his dragons wings
and buried fear deep in the hearts
of those who saw, who heard, who felt
his ominous approach.

Feasting his ears on the cries of their terror
he soared forward, heeding no obstacles,
tasting the siege within his heart,
for when the dust would settle on this day
so would be the victory of his attack.
