Castle Fear

I wait...
for the dawning of day
and with it hope for freedom
and my salvation I pray.

On wings of flight my beloved
will come.
On the edge of night he will carry
me home

Stolen in the night like so
much treasure.
No words, no sound
only darkness to measure.
His words tore the scream
straight from my heart
"You belong to me
never shall we part"

Evil incarnate is he
this one who thinks my
lover he shall be
Before he touches me I'll die
I'll jump from this tower
like a bird to the sky.

Wait...can you hear?
God has heard my plea
my saviour draws near.

I see the beast on which he flies,
all horned and winged
with death in his eye.
And there!
There is my love
astride the great beast
ready for battle or death
at the least.

The battle raged on into the night
tears of anguish I shed at the sight.
No mercy was shown no life spared
and with it my hopes vanished
into thin air.

Then through the mist shrouded morn
a dark and sinister shadow has formed

And still I wait....
for the dawning of day
and with it hope for freedom
and my salvation I pray.

On wings of flight my beloved
will come.
On the edge of night he will carry
me home
