I found this very sad, Wayne -- particularly the way she's been described ... because for all the beautiful things that are lost with age ... there are so many truly beautiful things gained. (Maybe it's my birthday looming on the horizon that has me thinking that way! :rofl )

It is, however, true that we so often become complacent and so accepting of a situation which no longer makes us happy ... and I think that was the poignancy here. For me, the light turning on near the end signified that she has fallen into the darkness of depression ... but still, we go through the motions of every day life. How was your day, indeed. It's funny .... does anyone ever really want that question answered? ;)

Enjoyed the read :)
Anyone can write of beauty -- of life, friendship, love everlasting -- but it is those rare, brave souls who dare to live their words that are the true poets of the universe. That is where true beauty lies. ~JaML
